Hillary Clinton
Related: About this forumOlive Branch or Schadenfreude? (Hillary group)
When Hillary clinches the nomination, what will your attitude be toward the Bernie supporters?
I think there's arguments for each. On the one hand, an olive branch would make us look good, and might actually do something to seal the divide going into the general. On the other hand, aside from being so cathartic, schadenfreude would be both just and useful. It would drive away those who can't keep their stuff together following the post-clinch jubilee (the period of a few days when Bernie supporters can vent as much as they want before buckling down and supporting Hillary).
I can't decide. What do you think?

(1,059 posts)Personally, I don't want to have to. The people who will come over
will, the others are a problem for someone else.

(15,438 posts)I'll take the Obama strategy of reconciliation rather than the "everything or nothing" approach, which is more in line with Bernie Sanders and his supporters.

(16,179 posts)Many of my friends are Bernie supporters and they have their reasons to support him. I respect their right to cast their vote as they choose, and they respect mine.
No matter who wins, in the fall we are going to need to band together to stop the Republican runaway train.

(1,514 posts)... informed me that Hillary Clinton supporters are almost certainly "mentally challenged" (this was coming from a supposed Democratic group). I'm voting for schadenfreude, at least in the short term.

(2,646 posts)I want no part of sanctimonious liberals who instead of working to "seal the divide" methodically drive out the very people I hold dear.
