http://www.dailykos.com/stories/2016/2/23/1489795/-Daily-Kos-Democratic-Primary-Straw-Poll-2-23-16Let's start out by stating, definitively, that straw polls mean diddly squat nothing null zero jack.
Just to be quite emphatic about that.
However, it's interesting to note the erosion in Sanders' numbers even on a sister site that's notoriously liberal. Just working from the very end of last year (when the Sanders campaign really got rolling):
12/29/15: Sanders 73, Clinton 26
1/13/16: Sanders 65 (-8), Clinton 32 (+8)
1/26/16: Sanders 61 (-4, -12 overall), Clinton 35 (+3, +11 overall)
2/23/16: Sanders 53 (-8, -20 overall), Clinton 44 (+9, +20 overall)
(the last entry can be found at the current poll at the bottom of the page)
Again, this means nothing, but I found the trend line interesting. From a very strong +47 dominance, Sanders has fallen to a scant +7 lead in what should be a bastion of very strong support for him.

(10,144 posts)but they are generally not looking to burn the house down to get rid of the mice and they definitely won't be voting for Trump if Hilz get the nomination. I also think the KOS polling trend shows Hillary is getting better as a candidate. As much as Bernie annoys me Hillary needs the competition to sharpen her up for the Trumpster.

(31,170 posts)and even the pro-Bernie posts there have been less contentious than they were. Maybe some of the people there who were there just to disrupt have vacated, and left the true Sanders supporters? I dunno....glad to see the pro Hillary numbers improving, whatever the reason!

(1,968 posts)A month ago, the place was unreadable. Today, it's much better (but still too contentious for my liking).
In a month, it should be back to normal. I hope...

(31,170 posts)I hope the same will apply here soon. I love our group, but I actually like to discuss stuff with Sanders supporters too, and for the most part i've given up, for now anyway.

(2,074 posts)after being a lurker there for many years (just like I joined DU in 2012 despite being a lurker since around 2008). I also prefer the format here, but I check KOS regularly and have since the start of the primaries. Overall, I'd say that the discourse there has tended to be a bit more balanced compared to DU. Definitely some harsh Bernie supporters there, like here, but balanced out more by sane Bernie supporters as well as Hillary supporters.
Still, I spend more time here because this is where the fun is, LOL!
