In large part because many Democrats decided that ideological purity was more important than practical politics. For some reason, that seemed sort of familiar to me...

But 1992...that was a good year, and this is starting to look like a good one too.

I changed my avatar from BlueCaliDem04 to just BlueCaliDem when they changed from DU2 to DU3 and the Admins allowed us that opportunity. So maybe you can ask the Admins? As my daddy use to tell me (in Dutch) - "The "no" you've already got. It's the "yes" you've gotta work for."

It's the way so many young progressives ( myself included) attacked no smeared "the establishment", assuming that we had all the answers and judging everyone who voiced any dissent as sell outs.

I remember how he trashed Hubert Humphrey, for example, as a warmonger, and were stubbornly ignorant of the fact that he was a hero in the fight for civil rights.

So, déjà vu...
