Are you now or have you ever been a Hillary Clinton supporter? HRC room

Last edited Fri May 15, 2015, 09:38 AM - Edit history (1)

HILLARY CLINTON ROOM

That is what comes to my mind when I read the op that says GD should be made for Sanders supporters and we just have our own group if we don't support him.

How dare we have a different opinion!

Posted in the HRC room.

To that end, it will be useful if everyone asks a question before posting: "If my candidate wins the nomination, how will this post affect our chances of bringing the other candidates' supporters on board?"

Criticism of candidates should be "uninhibited, robust and wide-open," in Justice Brennan's words. Imputation of improper motives to a candidate's supporters, however, is pointless and can leave wounds that linger after the Convention adjourns.

DUers who support Hillary Clinton are not getting checks from Goldman Sachs, which they use to buy monogrammed yacht covers. DUers who support a different candidate are not a bunch of sexist pigs who can't bear the thought of a successful woman. All such comments run afoul of Adlai Stevenson's sage advice: "Mud thrown is ground lost."

“Bernie was one of the most effective mayors that Burlington ever had,” Weinberger said. “I’m supporting Hillary because I think she’s the right person at the right time, and I think she’ll be a great president.”

Weinberger, the first Democrat elected mayor in the city for 31 years, declined to elaborate. Sanders has long been an independent, but caucuses with Democrats in the Senate and is seeking the Democratic nomination for president.

It’s worth noting Clinton’s team has deep Vermont ties. Her campaign manager, Robby Mook, hails from the Green Mountain State and is a familiar face in Democratic politics. He worked on former Vermont governor Howard Dean’s bid for the presidency in 2004.

No way is Bernie Sanders ever going to be elected president! He's got the same chance as I do of winning the office!
He won't even come close to the nomination ffs!

So in these months before the election Bernie's followers will be trying like hell to tear down Hillary's campaign.

The only people to benefit from all this is the Republican party and their stooge candidates.

Why do democrats want to help the dammed republicans?

I don't get it.

I got blocked for telling them that CNN WAS covering Sanders' announcement after someone griped that they weren't.

I provided links.

I was deemed "insufficiently enthusiastic" and got the banhammer as well. Badge of honor, I guess! While I welcomed him to the primary and won't trash-talk the guy (I mean, really, what's to trash talk? One can disagree, and even see him as not viable, and not be shitty about it--his heart is certainly in the right place), I won't be voting for him in the primary.

If lightning strikes and he gets the nomination, he'll get my vote. I always say the worst Democrat (even if they're actually an independent running as a Democratic Socialist or Socialist Democrat) is better than the best Republican.

In '08 we both supported Kucinich (I'm a native Floridian, she's from Ohio).

However, being Florida residents, and thanks to the Florida Democratic Party, we knew early on our primary votes wouldn't count (due to the FL Dem Party pushing up the primary so it wouldn't count on the national level) in the Presidential race. Neither of us voted in that column, but did vote for the best Dems we could for the rest of the races.
