(879 posts)that was a blowout. I was hoping for a Nebraska-like margin.

(31,170 posts)it's just a handful of delegates. All is well!
"Winning all 50 states" would be nice, but I'll take the gargantuan lead in delagates

(31,170 posts)the race is over from a math standpoint. I just thought we'd make Kansas a little closer.

(23,785 posts)Voters may or may not choose to affiliate with a political party, however, affiliation with a party is required to vote in primary elections.
31% of Kansas voters are registered unaffiliated.
Details of voting in congressional and state primary elections:
Party members must vote on their party's primary ballot.
Unaffiliated voters may register with a party on primary day to vote in that party's primary.
An unaffiliated voter may decide not to participate in either party's primary and will be allowed to vote on any nonpartisan questions on the ballot.

I dare say many unaffiliated conservative voters may have voted for Bernie to deny Hillary a win in Kansas. No proof, just my thought. They know she'll be a formidable Presidential candidate.

If youre looking for good news as a Sanderss fan, look no further than Kansas. Sanders won 23 delegates to Clintons 10 in the state. Not only did Sanders win, but he outperformed his FiveThirtyEight target of 19 delegates. Of course, hell need a lot more wins like that to have a realistic shot at the nomination.

(40,416 posts)I lived in Wichita for 18 years in the 80's and 90's. I was very politically active in those days. Sedgwick county (Wichita) had one helluva great Democratic party organization -- they probably still do. We had a permanently staffed headquarters in a county of about 300K with a salaried Executive Director. I served as party treasurer for a term. It was a helluva lot of fun, even when we were up against it.
By in the 90's the state GOP had changed drastically into what one can only describe as utter and flagrant theocratic madness. It was very weird to see the county GOP monthly newsletter speak more of Jesus than their candidates.
But the Dems there are pretty damned fierce and liberal. They may be trodden down these days, but they are tenacious. I kinda knew that Bernie would take the state by a rather large margin and across all districts. Sadly, my three best Democratic friends there have passed on. However, apparently the party goes on there.
I thought the insight might be informative.
My best to you all. May the best candidate win.

(3,825 posts)I'm in Missouri, I've seen the pain that republican Brownback has wrought in that state but that saying. KU and K state would have a lot of young people to draw from and not necessarily the mainstream Democrat.

(4,507 posts)for quality trolling.
Credit to this group for being very nice about it.
I suspect if we went into the BS group and posted the Louisiana results, we would not be received so nicely.
And for the inevitable jury, not that it will matter, but to be clear - the OP, who is a frequent poster in the Bernie group came into the Hillary group and posted an OP listing Kansas results. Like I said quality trolling - funny in its lack of subtlety. But I bet the response would be quite different if the reverse move were executed.

(4,507 posts)I thought it was kind of funny, and that sounds like a reasonable explanation, considering it was a pretty bare bones post.
