Hillary Clinton
Related: About this forumNobody wants to talk about it (especially the Sanders supporters)
but BOTH parties will have a nominee by March 15th.
It will be Clinton and Trump, and despite the build up on TV for ratings, it's not even close.
So excuse us, Sen. Sanders (I), but we have a country to run. Move along.

(22,871 posts)we think. I still think the GOP will either stop him from getting the nomination or withhold supporting him if he does. I think they'd rather let Clinton win than acknowledge him as the face of their party.

(24,283 posts)with Bernie. I had no answer because Sanders always looks frazzled to me. He looks like he could use a Xanax.

(14,272 posts)He came on stage looking relaxed and wearing a very nice, expensive suit--clearly showing that he is stepping up and trying to appear "presidential." Within a few minutes his face had reddened and his finger was pointing while his other arm waved around and his voice went up just enough to reveal he was losing his cool. He stayed that way.
He acted disgusted with Hillary Clinton the whole time. She did not deserve it.
He has become a Bernie Bro himself.

(24,283 posts)Hillary. Hillary is much cooler than me. That right hand Mr. Pointer finger would be losing a digit if he waved it in my face the way he did to her.

(67,782 posts)...Clinton's lead gets bigger and bigger. She now has a lead of about 200 pledged delegates, tomorrow it will increase by about 30 more, and after March 15 it will almost double.
Plus, most of the states in which Sanders was competitive or leading have now voted. He still may win rural states like the Dakotas, Wyoming, Idaho, etc. But he has no chance whatsoever in the bigger states with large urban areas. I don't think he's won a single state with large cities other than Colorado.
On the other hand, unless Trump can get closer or over 50% of the delegates before their convention, there will be a huge push for some sort of deal. Pledged delegates are only obligated to vote for their candidates on the first ballot. If Trump doesn't win that one, it will be every candidate for himself. Quite honestly, Kasich could come out of their convention with the nomination - he seems to be the most level headed and probably would be acceptable to the most delegates (and party leadership) than those other guys. But, I'm not a republican so I don't know how they think.

(59,147 posts)Pledged delegates are not locked to who won the State. That can only mean one thing. When pressed what that meant, all I got was coy answers.

Only if a candidate doesn't win the nomination on the first ballot are they no longer locked to any particular candidate.
The Democrats won't have that to worry about.

(127,350 posts)Michigan has 141 delegates and Clinton is up by 11 in the CBS poll, 17 in the NBC/WSJ poll and 37 in the Fox2 poll. With Michigan having 141 delegates that brings the split to 81 delegates for Clinton and 60 for Sanders assuming a 58-42 split in the primary.
Mississippi has 47 delegates. Assuming a 70-30 split (which is better than what occurred in both Alabama and Louisiana), that would give a count of 33-14 in Clinton's favor.

(15,951 posts)His victory in LA was OK, but very close in the other state plus he lost two other states. If he wins MI convincingly then I'll be more inclined to agree with you.
