I think she's done something very rare in politics today in setting aside her differences and productively working with her former political opponent for the good of the country. I've got my gripes, but I'm glad to have her as part of the administration. I Hillary for that!

I hope they didn't all leave. In a way, this sort of system is kinda what many in GDP always wanted - an easy to access safe-haven.

Hillary has said she's spent most of her adult life in politics and that she's looking forward to retirement. I take that to mean working with Bill on humanitarian issues more directly.

He always wanted to be SECSTATE, actually. He can be a bit chatty, but that can sometimes work well in that gig. Albright used conversational gambits to good effect.

Clinton has never made a Sherman statement on another Presidential run, so until she does, it's not untoward to assume she just might.

I'll lurk and post on occasion, but I don't see myself participating at the level I did on DU2. Too much moderation and too much censorship.

Besides, there are other sites that are much more Clinton friendly than this one.

It's a self-service facility....there are juries, not mods. Juries can sometimes be capricious, but no more so than mods, who would nuke a reasonable post or three because they wanted to get rid of a subthread with some troublesome stuff in it.

All "hosts" can do is lock an off-topic OP. They can't "rule" on if a thread is good/bad/indifferent, only if it meets the SOP for the forum in which it is posted. Hosts have very little power, and if they try to assume it, it won't end well for them. Most know that already, those that don't, learn it quick enough.

Yes, she is busy being SOS, but that doesn't mean she isn't President in our hearts. There will never be another like her. America missed it's very best choice for the first female president. Remember all the people who said a female candidate would be so common, but a black President would be very rare. Seems to me its just the opposite. Even the republicans had a candidate if he hadn't been so stupid. Ah well. I felt it was always bias against women, not support for the first black president, at least in a lot of hearts and minds.

But I believe her when she says she wants a life out of politics. Sometimes she looks so weary in her role as Sec. of State; it is really a grueling job. She would have made a stunning president.

This group is a refuge. You cannot say anything very complimentary about HRC, or suggest she run for something else, or talk about what might have been, or, the worst thing you can do out on the Groups at DU is talk about the 2008 primary, without the "PUMA" label being thrown on you. "Sour grapes," "loser", and all that, are why I left DU for a couple of years. I don't know how long this group has been here.

There is no use replaying the 2008 primary, I know, but, I know what I know and will never forget the skulduggery and unethical goings on in the primary caucuses and primary battles - saw it and heard about it with my own eyes and ears. I hope someday Hillary will write a book about her run for president. It would be very interesting.

I was proud that the US could put it's racist history aside and elect a president with black ancestry. I hoped for the best when he took office, but wasn't very surprised at Obama's lack of progressiveness, or decisiveness. He was handed a terrible portfolio to try to untangle, and I don't know if anyone could have done much better, even Hillary. I know she would have known who her enemies were, very well, and known better than to try to conciliate with people who hated her very existence. She is popular around the world, and she and Bill have enormous numbers of friends here and abroad. It seems that our present president has not made efforts to befriend even members of his own party, and particularly not tried to keep the friends he had, the minorities, the youth, and the progressive and labor groups. He seems to have kept distant from his own supporters. I don't understand it.

Not because their politics were much different, but because she knew how to fight the Republicans. She also had been in the senate for more than one term and had formed alliances that would have been useful in negotiating with the other side.

Obama had barely been in the senate half of his first term before he decided that he was ready to be president. I didn't think then or now that he was ready to handle the job better than Hillary.

Frankly, I can't stand the sight of him and it's no secret around here how I feel. Ditto for the party leadership and all the crap they pulled to ensure that he was the nominee.

I am now an Independent and I'm indifferent about either party.

I would GLADLY vote for Hillary if she ran again. I switched over for Obama because McCain and especially Palin freaked the sh*t out of me, and now Obama does. If she runs in 2016 she'll win, of course she'll be up against Christie so it'll be one hell of a showdown.

"I have no plans" is not the same as "Hell no, if nominated I will not run, if elected I will not serve."

I am with her no matter what she decides to do. Supreme Court Justice, President or grandmother or noted speaker. Whatever she wants to do, this great lady has my support. I am honored to have grown up in her time. I am just a few years older than she. My what an outstanding female hero for women to look up to for years to come. Thank you, Hillary Rodham Clinton, for being an inspiration to millions. If you want to go pick daisies, do it. You have earned the right to be and do whatever you want. Rest assured that no one will ever eclipse or equal you.
