Hillary Clinton
Related: About this forumLooking Ahead, NY is shaping up very nicely for Hillary (HRC Group)
A few reasons, outside of polling, to get excited about my home state of NY:
The primary is closed - Minimal influence by independents or Republicans. And Hillary has consistently lead Registered Democrats by around 65%-35%. Even in states she has lost.
The date to change party affiliation passed in October. It is already too late for anyone, except the first time voter, to switch over. This leads to a slightly older electorate as a result, which, again, favors Hillary.
Hillary had dominated large cities in almost every state (Including Detroit in Michigan). I'm pretty sure there is a somewhat large city somewhere in the state that might swing some votes her way.
She is very popular here. Her favorables in her adopted state are through the roof. She has a baked in home field advantage.
So yeah, the rules and structure and electorate and likeability all favor Hillary by a significant margin. Even with some losses between the 15th and NY, she is in a great position to take up a lot more delegates.

(1,968 posts)Are you sure there's a large City in New York? Really, if you look at it, more like five or six cities mashed together...
For that reason, and given the results in MA, I don't expect Sanders to perform very well in any of the eastern states right up to MA--including Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Plus my native PA also has a closed primary and you might have heard of one or three major city areas inside the state.
