Hillary Clinton
Related: About this forumI've come to the conclusion that I made a mistake...
When Sanders announced, I suggested that the exuberance of his supporters might lead to a bit of trash-talking, and we should probably be understanding.
I'm now of the opinion that there's a lot of anti-Hillary ugliness that has gravitated to Sanders as a convenient vehicle. I will respond appropriately and factually to some of the junk that gets thrown out. I will also remember that there's a real world out there, and that what percolates on DU has little bearing on it.

(11,417 posts)They talk like they are running his campaign. They have run out of things to say about him so they make up stuff about Hillary as if it will help Bernie.

(55,147 posts)They have absolutely nothing I want to read. I happen to like Senator Sanders as a person and welcomed him into the race (although I know his chances are slim to none), but if I need to see any news on Senator Sanders I will look elsewhere.

Cleaned up my DU page nicely.
Well worth it.

(9,148 posts)..here on DU. He doesn't seem the type to approve of what has been stated, in his good, kind name.
Oh well, its a very small bunch.
I have heard your rant & approve your message.
Good days await.

(13,877 posts)accused me of wanting to run her campaign. If that's trash-talking, then it's going to be a bit rough going, I'll agree. (and that wasn't junk...it was on her own stationery)

(28,270 posts)And lose almost every time. The juries are packed with Bernie fans and they don't care about being fair.
Hillary is treated worse than the republicans on DU I'm very sad to say

(55,147 posts)Unfortunately that's all I can say on the subject.

(28,270 posts)and campaign kick off event have been under unrelenting attack all day long. The problem is we Hillary backers cannot really fight back. You will be alerted on and banned in a very short time if you do.
And this is democratic underground lol. Strike that..the Bernie Underground. It's sad that we are silenced here with no recourse.

(55,147 posts)And trust me when I say I will be relentless in your face asshole (what comes around goes around).
Unfortunately getting to that point is going to suck.
Put it this way I am a Gay man that has waited my whole life for marriage equality (at one point it was only a dream of mine, then may years later it wasn't a dream anymore but something that might actually happen. Well that time is here now in my State something that was once only a dream & God willing it will be reality next month in all 50 States.
So yeah I can wait another year and a half. And yes it will be just a sweet as next month.

(28,270 posts)A solid and diverse majority of democratic voters back Hillary. The primaries are going to prove that. And when Hillary is the official democratic canidate for president. ..
Yeah my alert button is going to be smoking lol

(11,573 posts)I never thought we'd have marriage equality in my lifetime. Or a woman President.
I've always thought of both in terms of one of Arthur's last lines in Excalibur: "It is a dream I have."

(27,816 posts)It seems pretty apparent that some of the "exuberant" Sanders supporters here are using their (alleged) support of Bernie as a cover for bashing Hillary.
Not ALL, certainly - but some, and a very vocal "some".
Sadly, it is a guise that works all too well. One need only read the posts that are nothing more than screeds against HRC, Obama, and/or the Democratic Party - which end with a vague, gratuitous "mention" of Bernie.
Think about it. If you are honestly a Sanders supporter, why would you feel any need to post an endless tirade against other Dems, candidates or otherwise, as a prelude to saying "Oh, and by the way, I support Bernie"?
Some are more obvious than others - but those who ARE obvious are VERY obvious.

(11,495 posts)Those who have been bashing the president for years, and the number has grown, who now seem to have taken control of the Bernie Sanders group. I think that most of the supporters over there are really doing in because they like Bernie and want him in office. I like him also, but the more vocal ones that have been trouble makers for some time, just make it bad for the whole group. I have seen some of the supporters try to talk with the loud mouths and tone them down, but they just get ganged up on by the same crowd, and talking to them does no good at all. It's a real shame.

I did notice the site for Hillary's official launch.
And it is beautiful!

(30,058 posts)My bag of tricks. It these outings continues he will be losing votes rather than gaining. Hillary needs to continue to run her campaign and allow this other to fall by the wayside.

(20,136 posts)When Sanders loses, they'll find someone else to latch onto as a way to bash Democrats.
Notice how they always pick people who have very little chance of either running or winning? It's very convenient because their candidates will never have to actually do the hard work of governing which involves compromise and incremental progress, both of which they constantly decry.

(11,573 posts)I like and respect Bernie Sanders. He's a fine Senator, and the Senate is all the better for him. He'll be invaluable there to work with Hillary's administration.
The Hillary trashing isn't going to persuade anyone to vote for him, though..

(7,286 posts)I council patience and circumspection. Some times saying nothing at all is better than saying one thing.
I am staying out of the fray.
Want I really want to post stays inside.
Most of this will pass. But I strongly suspect that in 3 years we will be back to "the piece of sh7t used-car (sic) salesman" days.
Some of this anti Hillary stuff is a set up for that. It will be worse than it was for PBO 'cuz they can point and say "told ya so" every little thing that goes wrong

(68,868 posts)one candidate or the other. Since Warren wasn't an option anymore, they all fell in behind Sanders.
Of course, there are a lot of people (see avatar) who support Sanders because we agree with his policies.
But, the Sanders candidacy is being used as a vehicle by the chronic malcontents, clickbaiters, and internet dick-measuring-contestants.
You can tell the ones who never had the time to advocate for Bernie until it was clear Warren wasn't going to run.
Important to keep the two groups separate.
