Sanders did polling before running

to know what millennials wanted to hear. Like finding their catnip and running with it. He made this his platform.

http://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2016/01/iowa-caucus-college-students-2016-213564?o=1

Pollsters for Sanders last year saw indications that the under-25 set would embrace the 74-year-old Vermonter if he pushed issues they cared about—free college tuition, same-sex marriage, legalized marijuana—and those projections were right. Ask young Sanders supporters what they like about him and the responses often echo what was said about a certain former Illinois senator whose Iowa victory over Hillary Clinton in 2008 served as an opening springboard to the White House.

That's one of the three things that bother me most about Bernie.
1) That is is really not a Democrat but is using the Democratic Party to get what he wants,
2) That he raises lots of money for his campaign, but does very little for other Democrats (oh, wait, he's not a Democrat),
3) He promised to run a positive campaign and has gone very negative while still insisting he is being positive.

So, not surprised that he polled before running to see what to promise young people.
I'm not young. I'm old, but I still work with young people and the best thing I can do for them is to be honest with them, not to promise them the world and then not deliver.

I keep telling my parents that smart kids see through the Sanders pandering, but they insist is a socio-economic thing. My other evidence is that my friends at public colleges somehow think the Bernie promise for free education will effect them. As if such an expensive, vast change in policy (including tax hikes) will happen before they finish college (most are freshmen) with a repub congress...not that smart.

Talking about wooing Southern Dems back in 2013:

“These are guys getting hung up on gay marriage issues,” Sanders told Schultz. “They’re getting hung up on abortion issues. And it is time we started focusing on the economic issues that bring us together: Defending Social Security, defending Medicare, making sure that Medicaid is not cut, that veterans’ programs are not cut.”

http://www.rawstory.com/2013/10/bernie-sanders-tells-ed-schultz-southern-democrats-are-tired-of-being-abandoned-by-the-party/

Now to me it sounds like he's prioritizing, or at least swinging focus toward, economic issues rather than social ones, specifically gay and women's rights.

I don't trust him on anything. He may have some strong opinions on the economy, but that falls far short of what I look for in a president.

For a supposedly principled man, Bernie sure has flip-flopped on a lot of his core ideas about this primary election.

Now he's trying to say that super-delegates in states that he has won MUST vote for him, but super-delegates in states Clinton has won should give their voters a middle finger and vote for Bernie instead. Does he not realize what a hypocrite this makes him??
