This is pretty interesting! He talks almost an hour plus takes questions from the audience. He explains his rise, how he did it, his philosophy, his take on Democrats and Republicans, what was happening at the time.... Pretty telling. Seems he hasn't changed much.

1. As suspected, he doesn't care at all about the Democratic party and it doesn't seem....

to make a difference to him which party is running the country.

Judging from a few internet sites, his hardest core followers don't either. I certainly hope for the country's sake, that isn't true of a large percentage of them.

it did not work. Wasn't viable. Too expensive. But this speech was before in time.

2. Years ago

The late Michael Harrington, who was an important person in US Socialism, advised socialists to join and work within the Democratic Party in order to push it left.
There were a few socialists who did that, and did get elected to offices.
Sanders, more or less, is doing that.
Sanders is running as a Democrat because there is no viable socialist party in the USA.

Harrington gave that advice because the Democratic Party was the only place for socialists to go; their only reasonable chance to get elected to anything.

5. Stuck on repeat.

It is not reassuring to hear the exact same unaltered stump speech from 25 years ago.

The Democratic Party has had significant progressive accomplishments over that period of time.

If the issues of class and our economic system don't resonate with the voters - don't create the popular political revolution envisioned on the extreme left - is it the message or the messenger?

Or maybe is it simply America and the world is not ready for socialism? Not yet?

We all know what that book was. Sanders doesn't have the guts to say it.

He went through a phase a lot of us Lefties go through when we are young, questioning authority and wallow in cynicism cause we think we know it all.

That, my friends, is not a Social Democrat. It's a Socialist. It's the "M" word I can't type cause you know the swarm would alert on it.

He never held a steady job until he was 40+ when he finally go elected by pretending to be less radical than he is.

He never VOTED until he voted for himself.
