Oh, Susan Sarandon -By Connie SchultzSusan, Susan, Susan.
This Democratic primary is starting to feel like the family reunion that should have ended weeks ago in a house full of relatives who refuse to leave. Earlier this week, actor and progressive activist Susan Sarandon showed up for Chris Hayes' show on MSNBC to talk about why she supports Bernie Sanders. Fine. I mean it. I was fine with that. I had already accepted that Thelma's friend Louise was not going to support the first viable female candidate for president. I'm a teensy bit troubled that, for the first time, I don't feel that pang of regret when I think of them driving off that cliff, but I've been hanging on to that for too long anyway. Besides, I've got friends and people in my own family who are a lot like Susan Sarandon, whom I have long admired. Like her, they go on and on about the purity of their commitment, pausing just long enough to give me an unsolicited tutorial on why my support for Hillary Clinton proves I can't possibly be a true progressive. Please. As I've mentioned before, I grew up with the Jack and Jesus wall. There they were, Jack Kennedy and Jesus, hanging shoulder to shoulder — a tag-team reminder that every fight for justice starts with a true believer and ends with a pragmatist to hammer out the details...............MORE WHICH YOU SHOULD READ.................. https://www.creators.com/read/connie-schultz/03/16/oh-susan-sarandon Connie is so good! ![]()

6. I didn't know that!
She said it exactly right about Sarandon. I really had to laugh when she said Bernie doesn't have any ego! I mean, anyone who runs for President of the United States HAS to have a big ego, by definition. Hillary does, too, but she manages to use it without wagging her finger at everybody and telling them to shut up.

7. Sarandon was just lying.. and you can tell she's had a lot practice if she can say "bernie doesn't
have any ego".. with a straight face.
My sister in California only knows sanders from seeing him on tv and that's the first thing she said to me months ago.. was that he "was egotistical and arrogant.. ". And, she's far from the only one. And, to actually say he isn't is like 1984.. down is up, crooked is straight, and bad is good.. |

3. Sarandon regularly tows the Sanders line and attacks Clinton on the Iraq vote. But Sarandon...
...previously endorsed John Edwards in 2008, and he voted yes on Iraq in 2002 also.
So why the hypocrisy, Susan? Hmm? |

14. Do love Connie Schultz!!
She is awesome, and her husband, Senator Sherrod Brown, is equally awesome.
And I did hear from one of my Bernie supporter friends last week who asked my why Senator Brown had sold out to corporate interests. I mean, no true progressive could support Hillary, right? ![]() |

19. The Brown's are our foundation Democratic couple in Ohio.
We need 1,000 more like the Brown's. The Strickland' S are another strong couple. Hoping Ted becomes our next Senator along side Sharrod.

24. That would be awesome
Frances Strickland is one the nicest people ever. I was at an event several years ago, and both Frances Strickland and Connie Schultz were there. Frances convinced Connie to sing with her, and Connie was a super good sport about it. I became permanent fans of both women that day.
Wow. Senators Brown AND Strickland representing Ohio in the Senate. Dang. Might help everyone forget what we have for our governor. |

In fact, I have heard through the grapevine that the more Bernie supporters attack the more good Democrats are becoming disgusted especially the supers. There is a lot of talk behind the curtain about some of this stuff.

26. I think SS would like to be heralded as a thorn in the side of the Democratic Party. Remember....
in 2000, she was a straight up Naderite. Far too many "liberals" think that the destruction of the Democratic Party will bring about some new more liberal replacement. One need look no further than the Green Party to know that ain't true.
