Why Republicans Want Bernie Sanders to Win

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2016/03/13/1500749/-Why-Republicans-Want-Bernie-Sanders-to-Win

To cut it short and get straight to the point, it’s because they think they have a much greater chance at defeating him in the general election. Let’s be honest here; any “dirt” on Hillary Clinton has already been “exposed,” and the general public, for the most part, has made peace with that. Bernie Sanders is a completely different story. What secrets about Bernie are we yet to find out?

Republican strategists are sitting on a treasure trove of Bernie Sanders’ quotes and goodies from the ‘70s and ‘80s. You’re naïve if you think that there won’t be 24/7 Bernie Sanders’ trashing on Fox News, accompanied by scary socialist/communist documentaries. These programs have practically written themselves. We’re talking about a man who praised Fidel Castro and went short of saying that he was an exemplary leader and that the U.S. would be a lot better off if we were more like Cuba. Do you think it really matters to the general American public if this was taken out of context or if he was only referring to their social programs? Of course not, and Fox News isn’t going to present the full story.

Fox News is just waiting to inform the public of Sanders’ personal life, multiple marriages, and his child born out of wedlock. They can’t wait to spread all around town an old quote from the ‘70s where Sanders said that women fantasize about being raped by multiple men. Again, does it really matter that it was just a silly attention-getter from an essay? It does to me; it does to you as a Bernie Sanders’ supporter, but does it matter to the swing voters when all they see is an out of context quote?

You’re probably pointing to the polls that show Sanders faring better than Clinton against Trump, but you’re forgetting that Clinton’s favorability rating won’t likely suffer any more. Sanders’ rating most certainly will.

I implore you to ask yourself, why are the Republicans spending millions of dollars in anti-Hillary Clinton ads and in pro-Bernie Sanders ads? Is it because they are feeling the bern? Or is it because they’re waiting to unleash the worst of Bernie Sanders on the general public—quotes far worse than the ones I mentioned above?

5. Only his 2014 - the LEAST amongst all presidential candidates - including Republicans!

This will not bode well. His supporters might think it's no big deal, but Republicans will, and they will propagate it to nth degree, 24/7, with hundreds of millions allocated to do some serious damage.

The Clintons, in contrast, have released TEN YEARS of their filed taxes - more than any Republican so far.

Oh yes. Fox "News" Channel, HateRadio, CNN, all newspapers, and every Drudge-style blog will be propagandizing the worst about Bernie's reluctance to release his tax statements, and Bernie will go down in flames.

This is why he's not ready for primetime. He should've seen this ahead of time. He should've cut them off at the knees and released at least as many tax statements as Hillary Clinton. But he failed, and his failure could take down the Democratic Party for a generation.

We can't let that happen.

"after Bernie releases as many tax statements as she has".

I get the usual hateful replies, but facts are facts, fair is fair.

3. Clinton Camp: GOP Attacks On Hillary Show They'd Rather Face Bernie In Fall
Fri Apr 1, 2016, 12:14 PM

The GOP really wants to run against a weaker candidate http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/hillary-clinton-bernie-sanders-karl-rove-attack

The Hillary Clinton campaign on Tuesday said that recent attacks from conservatives show that Republicans are hoping Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) will win the Democratic nomination because they believe he would be easier to beat in the general election.

In a Tuesday evening statement, the Clinton campaign's communications director, Jennifer Palmieri, mentioned an ad from the Rove-aligned super PAC American Crossroads, which accused Clinton of being in Wall Street's pocket. Palmieri said the ad suggests that Republicans want to face Sanders in the general election.

"While Senator Sanders tries to make a case on electability based on meaningless polls, Republicans and their super PACs have made clear the candidate they’re actually afraid to face. The Sanders argument falls apart when the GOP spokesman is trying to help him and the Republicans run ads trying to stop Hillary Clinton in the primary," she said in the statement.

Karl Rove is running an attack ad against Clinton. Rove is doing this for one purpose which is to weaken the strongest candidate

11. All his anti-war talk is just that......talk.

He has supported funding for almost everything the US has done including Iraq and did not vote against the funding for the war in Afghanistan. He's all talk, that's why no one in the Senate has endorsed his campaign. He does nothing for other Dems and he continues to only support his campaign.
