Bernie Sanders won Nevada Saturday after county conventions took the win from Hillary Clinton. The Clinton and Sanders campaigns clashed at Nevada county conventions, and Sanders walked away with three county wins, including Clark County where Clinton had originally won the vote. This means that although Clinton got more votes on caucus day, Sanders will likely end up with more delegates. Projections put him getting anywhere from 1 to 10, although most hover around 1 to 4. Some sources, such as Ralston Reports, said he gained two delegates over Clinton. Sanders campaign manager said he netted four over Clinton.
The Clark County convention was filled with drama, including rumors that Sanders delegates were told not to show up and others being threatened with arrest. In the end, more delegates voted for Sanders than Clinton, flipping the results of Clark County, which includes Las Vegas. Its unclear at this time exactly how many new delegates Sanders is picking up from Nevada, since delegates are unbound until the state convention, but he definitely won some today.

(6,444 posts)1. Sanders Won the Clark County Convention, After Clinton Had Won the Clark County Caucus
On caucus day in February, almost 9,000 delegates were elected for the Clark County convention: 4,889 for Clinton and 4,026 for Sanders, Las Vegas Sun reported. At the end of the county convention today, the count was 2,386 for Clinton and 2,964 for Sanders.
In Carson County, Sanders ended up with a vote of 29:28. And in Washoe County, Sanders had 1050 to Clintons 833.
Although Clinton had more delegates than Sanders after the Nevada caucus election, Sanders walked away with more wins on Saturday because either her delegates didnt all show up for the county conventions or they changed their votes. Alternates are able to vote in the place of delegates who dont show up.
Its unclear at this time exactly what this means statewide or how many extra delegates Sanders will pick up from the state convention. There are 35 delegates total for Nevada and 25 are rewarded proportionally based on caucus results. Twelve are awarded through county conventions. Sanders may pick up as few as just one or two extra delegates, or it could give Sanders as many as 10 extra delegates in the national convention. (Nevada also has eight superdelegates.)

(6,444 posts)2. Officials Deposed the Credentialing Chair at the Beginning of the Convention
Some say that officials sought to remove Kramer because she stopped rule violations during Friday night preregistration that were hurtful to the Sanders campaign. Others say she was actively campaigning against Clinton. The following message was shared on Facebook, but it has not been confirmed if this was actually from the Clinton campaign:
Nevada has three delegates: elected (chosen at precinct caucuses), alternates (named at the precinct caucuses), and unelected alternates. The Credential Committee, which decides who can serve as a delegate, consists of two Clinton representatives and two Sanders representatives, Uncut reported. Kramer was the chair of that committee. On Friday, both sides accused the other of cheating, which led to Kramers attempted removal.
At the heart of the dispute over Kramer was email correspondence with Clintons campaign, that she eventually shared with a Sanders representative. Uncut reported that Angie Sullivan, a member of the credentials committee, had claimed that the Clark County Democratic Party shared information with Clintons campaign but not Sanders. That was why Kramer added a Sanders campaign rep into email correspondence. Meanwhile, Clintons campaign attorney Marc Elias said that Kramer had shared proprietary information and demanded she be removed. Kramer said she was only being a neutral party and making sure everyone knew what was going on.

Re: Removal of Christine Kramer as Credentials Chair
Dear Chair Miller:
I write as general counsel to Hillary for America to request the immediate removal of Christine Kramar as Credentials Chair of the Clark County Democratic Convention to take place this Saturday, April 2. Throughout Hillary for Americas attempts to engage with Ms. Kramar regarding the credentialing of convention delegates and other matters, Ms. Kramar has publicly engaged in a series of egregious, disruptive and biased behavior that irreparably undermines her credibility to administer a fair and successful convention on Saturday.
First, in an email sent today, March 30, Ms. Kramar exposed confidential Hillary for America (HFA) campaign information and data by unilaterally adding a representative of Senator Sanders campaign into a chain of email correspondence between HFA, the Clark County Democratic Party and the Nevada State Democratic Party. As you know, the confidentiality and propriety of data is paramount to any campaign. Ms. Kramars carelessness or worse in exposing HFAs data is plainly unacceptable and must not be tolerated.
Second, in another email sent today to both campaigns, Ms. Kramar engaged in a series of unwarranted and inexcusable personal attacks against HFA representatives, and frivolously accused HFA of engaging in unethical practices in its preparation for Saturdays convention. Indeed, it is apparent from Ms. Kramars email that she is advocating for positions in her role as credentials chair based on candidate-specific grounds, rather than making impartial decisions that are in the best interest of the tens of thousands of Clark County Democrats who turned out to caucus last month and who wish to participate as delegates to the Clark County Democratic Convention. Ms. Kramers behavior is at odds with the values of Nevada Democrats and the spirit of the primary campaign between Secretary Clinton and Senator Sanders.
In her latest email to both HFA and the Sanders campaign regarding the credentialing of delegates, Ms. Kramar issued HFA an ultimatum: either the county convention proceed on Saturday under the terms agreed upon by both campaigns or the convention be delayed for further discussion and resolution of various credentialing rules. To be clear: it is and always has been HFAs position that the Clark County Democratic Convention proceed as scheduled and under the agreed-upon rules and procures. However, it is my strong belief that Ms. Kramars behavior demonstrate that she is not suited to administer the convention in an impartial way according to those rules and procedures. As a result, I respectfully request that this board immediately relieve Ms. Kramer from playing any role related to the credentialing of delegates or any other party procedures to take place at this Saturdays county convention.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if it would be helpful to discuss this matter further.
Very truly yours,
Marc E. Elias

This isnt the first time in the presidential campaign that a caucus or primary win was changed in the convention. On the GOP side, Donald Trump won Louisiana with the popular vote on primary day. But Ted Cruz ended up with more delegates at the state convention.

(6,444 posts)4. Police Were Called to the Convention, With Rumors of Arrests
On one discussion forum that supports Sanders, a poster wrote: The Clark County Dem party told them they had to change their vote to Clinton if they wanted to go to the convention. They were told if theyre unwilling to change their vote they can just go home. Sanders campaign attorneys showed up as the Bernie delegates refused to leave. The Clark County Dem party called the police an are trying to get the Bernie delegates arrested. The Clark County Dem party is trying to bypass the chair. They havent been arrested yet but said Las Vegas Metro was called and charges were being pressed. What charges I dont know.
It was never indicated if anyone was actually arrested. According to Uncut, the Clark County Democratic Party called the police to remove Kramer from the premises on Saturday. The other members of the credentials committee, including two Clinton delegates, sat with Kramer in solidarity. Police threatened Kramer with a trespassing charge, as seen in the video below, but didnt actually arrest her:

And this is a copy of the email that was sent to delegates on Friday, causing the confusion. This was also shared by Leach on Facebook:

Its understandable why delegates were so confused about what they were supposed to do.

(79 posts)This email was sent to ALL delegates, not just Hillary's. My wife and I received it. We are Sanders delegates. Some play was going on from the Clark County democrats(who sent the email and lean Hillary). Friday night's registration for the convention was located at the Hillary backing SEIU union hall. The flyer for Hillary people seemed to for Hillary people only. I think the Clark county democrats realized how few Hillary delegates would show. Made a panic play here, but didn't work out.
The way I see it, I think there were several phony signed caucus delegates for Hillary at the casino sites.
Either not registered to vote or out of town people. Heard some of these showed up at the convention but refused to give a local address.

Part of what they do is promote conflict between the Clinton and Sanders camps because keeping Bernie supporters in a constant state of outrage is so beneficial to the political process.
