Related: About this forumHow is asking to explain your positions "Gotcha" questions?
When Sanders and his camp asked for more media coverage, were they expecting a platform where he would just pontificate without being questioned?
Is that it?
I don't get it.

(11,014 posts)He should be bowed down to and not asked any questions other than "how's the weather?" or "What did you eat for breakfast?"
(Although the latter might be construed as a gotcha question)

(1,019 posts)Maybe I just picked a bad time to join DU, because the jury system is starting to make me reconsider posting here. It's a bullshit bully process, and I'm getting a little sick of my posts being judged by partisan fans of Bernie Sanders, people who are basically the opposite of democracy.

(11,014 posts)I have some 12 hides in the last 3 months when in my entire time on DU from 2004 till 2015 March I had only two hides.

(1,019 posts)Thanks for the perspective. After all, it's not like DU planned to be hijacked by libertarians for 6 months.

I don't think his supporters have any idea what the media would do to Bernie if he were to get the nomination. They aren't as much concerned with reporting the truth as they are sensationalizing a story to attract viewers/readers.

You have to be ready. They say if you can make it in New York you can make it anywhere.
But if you're not ready . . . tsk, tsk, tsk.
Just talking points don't go unchallenged.
Print journalists actual ask for details on how you plan to get your policies enacted.
And they ask follow-up question, and follow-ups to follow-ups.

Critical thinking beyond "there's a problem" is beyond their purveyance. I call it crowbar thinking. You can tear apart but there is no other tool you know how to use

It's like you didn't even try.
Oh man! Do you guys think Bernie is throwing it? Like, maybe he does
actually see that his most fervent supporters are off the rails and all
he can do is to tank to get out of a bad situation?

(61,194 posts)BS had to know that press isn't always positive. But the BSers needed something to keep the fire Bern'ing so they hyped the perceived lack of media coverage.
Sanders was on the Sunday talk shows nearly every week, if not one or more of them each week. I don't have time to search all the dates he was on, but I recall pointing out to my wife on several occasions that Sunday morning had become the Trump - Sanders hour.
