Benghazi committee hero Elijah Cummings endorses Hillary Clinton, preaches party unity

When we last saw Elijah Cummings, he was the democratic congressman who used his speaking time during the Benghazi committee hearings to take a defiant stand against the time and money being wasted by his republican colleagues in the name of rehashing Benghazi for political gain. Even as Hillary Clinton was testifying for eleven hours and making the republicans look foolish for having targeted her in the first place, Cummings made a national name for himself among those who weren’t already familiar with his decades of representing Maryland. Now he’s reinserted himself into the national spotlight.

Just two weeks before his state of Maryland is set to vote in the 2016 democratic primary race, Elijah Cummings is formally endorsing Hillary Clinton for President. Cummings made a point of thanking her rival Bernie Sanders for his efforts at fighting for “peace and justice” and he stated his view that both candidates are qualified for the job. But he’s backing Clinton. This comes at a key time in the late stages of the primary season.

Yep, BS went too far.

It was Cummings who asked the CIA to declassify the partially redacted government documents which the republicans were being used against Clinton, only to learn that none of it had been classified to begin with. That forced Gowdy to admit that he himself had blacked out portions of the documents arbitrarily and allowed everyone to falsely believe that information was classified. But Cummings saved perhaps his best moment for last.
