http://www.ntn24.com/noticias/denuncian-en-venezuela-acoso-87553Human Rights coordinator claims there is a cleansing operation to rid the government of those who voted for Capriles. She indicated teachers all over the country have been informed that if they don't sign swearing loyalty to Maduro they would be fired.

(6,837 posts)She says she has received a flood of emails and calls from public employees, some of whom say they have been interrogated about their political views.
"They don't know who you voted for, but they suspect you might be an opposition sympathizer if once you posted some comment like 'Crime is really bad,'" said Solorzano, looking through an email inbox bulging with complaints.
"There are people in ministries whose job is to review Facebook and Twitter accounts."
In another video that also circulated widely online, an official in the western state of Zulia was apparently recorded telling employees in his office that campaign canvassing phone calls had revealed which of them supported Capriles.

I wonder what the chavistas like about this government. Is it the fascism or the incompetence?

(1,954 posts)... has probably realized that the majority of negative information regarding Venezuela is completely false. Fabricated. Manipulated.
So... I guess you're missing the real reason for many being skeptical about any negative information about Venezuela.

(6,837 posts)any normal individual can see that. Just the fanatical types adore the thankfully perished chavez. what do you like chavez for? Brazil is a much more stable and safe place. I'd much rather live and visit there. Why don't you like Obama? The name of the site should give you a clue on what the vast number of DU members are here for. its not Marxist anti-US asshole underground.

(62,270 posts)The photos were very likely released by the Maduro camp as a false flag attempt to make a mockery of anyone who posted them.
This happened during Occupy when people would post false photos of the 'turnout' in a certain OWS protest, trying to discredit Occupy by using photoshopped imagery (even some DUers caught on to it).
Of course, I highly doubt you'd dismiss OWS supporters for not being thorough and reposting a report that was false...
"The photos were very likely released by the Maduro camp as a false flag attempt to make a mockery of anyone who posted them."
"Very likely", huh?
Do you have any evidence of that?
The false picture of Chávez published by the Spanish newspaper was also released by the Maduro camp to make a mockery of them?
Or... maybe... they are simply lousy newspapers?

(62,270 posts)Just as posters who don't verify what they post are idiots, etc.

(7,362 posts)And the newspapers publishing those 2010 photos really, really impacted me.
That being said, on this issue there is actual videos of the guys making the threats to fire people. So my problem with some posters (not you by the way) is that is goes way beyond skepticism and into just being in denial.

(62,270 posts)The newspapers that posted them had no real credibility before the fact and were more like tabloid rags. Of course, they are used to represent the opposition when the opposition was first to make it clear that the photos were a false flag attempt to mislead. I can find the link if you want but one of the top opposition people tweeted not to buy into false and misleading reports. The photos themselves were from an obscure CNE website gallery. Whoever sent the photos out had very misleading intentions and it was all designed to destroy credibility of those who bought into it. It wasn't someone just seeing some photos and being misled, someone literally went to the CNE gallery, found the photos, and intentionally misrepresented them. I would find it hard to believe that an opposition member would do that (since ultimately the truth would come out). I think, like with the Occupy protests, someone on the chavista side decided to mislead people with false information.
Fortunately social media didn't buy into it and the only newspaper that did was a tabloid rag to begin with.

I don't tend to post rumor stuff, but if I post something, it's going to be backed up. The CDI burnings claimed by Maduro, etc (deflected on these forums with tenuous evidence at best). The fact that chavistas made fake videos purporting to prove that opposition members were infiltrating chavista protests. The fact that chavistas were openly admitting to political recrimination for those who didn't vote the right way.
Facts are a funny thing. They're neither negative or positive. It's only how one interprets them. Some here would probably think it was a positive thing that chavistas were threatening to taking away missione support from people who voted for Capriles, etc (after all, said people "wouldn't be missed" if the "earth swallowed them up" .
edit: oh god, go watch Gabriela Ramírez's speech about the CDI burnings and how she literally claimed that one of them was "repaired immediately" after being 90% burned. Watch her blink throughout that entire press conference. Holy shit. These people are fucking nuts.

(507 posts)It all started with lista Tascon. Anyone living in Venezuela knows many people who have suffered for being included in the 4 or 5 million opponents' black list and fired from their job in the administration. Some worked as cameraman, some as magistrate in the court.

(745 posts)Why is it so hard for some people here at DU to believe that the elections were stolen , that the government is getting rid of those who voted for Capriles, and that Venezuela is in deep trouble right now. Maduro is not Chavez. He was put in power by Chavez violating the Constitution. Why is it that the opposition is not re-counting the votes? Are they afraid of something? I don't need to read any news to tell me what is going on there. I have my family there. I know what they are going through . And whether people here wants to believe it or not , Venezuela's politics is handle by the Castros. Guess where Maduro is today? In Cuba. Maybe he is asking the Castro brothers for direction on what to do next. But I guess that I should know by now that when some people here in DU don't agree with other's people ideology or opinion, they start insulting , labeling, etc.etc.
