PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (defend.ht) - Former President Jean-Bertrand Aristide is engaged in the return of Fanmi Lavalas to the political terrain in Haiti according to former Martelly Adviser Richard Morse who said he met with Aristide three times in the past two weeks.
Reported by the Associated Press, this information comes a few days after different sectors of the Lavalas movement have declared the start of the campaign to be May 8, the day Aristide will respond, at the Palace of Justice in Port-au-Prince, to an invitation by Judge Ivikiel Dabrezil who is investigating the murder of journalist Jean Leopold Dominique.
...
Morse, who resigned from the Martelly administration in December and recently cited corruption and deliberate infrastructure sabotage as the reason, said that he met with the Lavalas leader in an effort to get his wife, Lunise Exume Morse to run under the party's banner for the senate seat in the West Department.
...
Aristide's court appearance on Wednesday is almost certain to draw large crowds of people expressing solidariy in the streets of Port-au-Prince.
