BUENOS AIRES - Visiting Chinese Vice-President Li Yuanchao met Julian Dominguez, president of the Argentine Chamber of Deputies, Friday on ways to advance bilateral inter-parliamentary relations.
At the meeting, Li said his talks with Argentine President Cristina Fernandez, and Vice-President and President of the Senate Amado Boudou earlier in the day were pragmatic and fruitful. He said he was impressed by the importance attached by Argentina to developing relations with China and was inspired by its keenness to enhance bilateral exchanges and cooperation in various fields.
China and Argentina have kept close exchanges between their legislative bodies in recent years, Li said, adding that he is confident that the two sides would actively exchange experience in lawmaking and governance and be committed to boosting mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples.
China and Argentina are two big and highly complementary agricultural nations with huge potential for cooperation in this field, he added, calling on both sides to consolidate exchanges and continue to upgrade cooperation.
