Colombian patrol boats head to Brazil as part of arms deal
http://colombiareports.co/colombian-patrol-boats-head-brazil-part-arms-deal/Two military patrol boats built in the Colombian city of Cartagena have been sent to the Brazilian Navy as part of a $9 million arms deal between the two countries.
Each state-of-the-art boat can hold 20 people, is equipped with different types of long and short-range weapons, and can reach 33 knots. They also have air-conditioning.
“The average construction time is 15 months,” said Colombia’s Vice-Admiral Luis Alberto Ordoñez to CM& news, adding that the other two patrol boats promised in the arms deal will be handed over to Brazil’s Navy by the end of October.
