Extreme poverty increases Venezuela National Institute of Statistics (Spanish)

Extreme poverty increased from 7% in 2012 to 10% in 2013. Overall poverty increased to 27% as previously noted here.

is that poverty reduction was already happening in the pre-chavez years and actually slowed down when Chavez came to power.

Poverty increased between 2002 and 2003, almost back to the level of 1997.

The only years with a significant reduction of poverty were 2004 - 2007.
