Colombia Farc rebels set to hand over French reporter

A group of mediators has set off for the jungle in southern Colombia for the expected release of abducted French journalist Romeo Langlois.

Mr Langlois was captured by left-wing Farc rebels a month ago when filming the destruction of cocaine laboratories by army soldiers in the Caqueta region.

The rebels released a video on Monday showing the France 24 journalist in apparent good health and spirits.

Colombia has suspended operations in the area for the handover.

On Sunday, the rebels announced they would release Mr Langlois, 35, to a mediation committee consisting of members of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), French envoy Jean-Baptiste Chauvin and peace activist Piedad Cordoba.
