There were better shots but I can't be bothered to try to get one because I'm sure the pictures will be posted later today.
LOL, OK, I couldn't help myself, the crowd went nuts when he put this hat on:

(79 posts)and I'm guessing he has a very good chance of winning. My only worry should he win is that he wouldn't live to take office. After all these years of entrenched corruption I'm sure a lot of the current government would be willing to take action to make sure the gravy train isn't stopped.

(62,276 posts)While he's been focusing on the big cities lately (where most of the poor live) he hasn't gone to the rural areas where Chavez gets 100% of the vote in some cases. There's also a concern that the electronic voting machines, utilizing "ghost votes" will kill any chance Capriles has at a win (the 2004 recall was dubious at best).
What's clear by these photos is that Capriles is very very popular and loved by many Venezuelans, not just the rich, but across all demographics. This makes chavista's quake in their boots. However, if they can utilize the "ghost" votes it won't matter so much. This is why it's paramount for Capriles' campaign to have observers at every single polling station so the ghost votes cannot exist.

The words of a fascist right wing oligarch, no doubt.

Not sure which city this is, I'm thinking Guacara.
edit: it's Puerto Cabello, HCR gave a speech there talking about how rather than being an import port it'd be an export port.
