Fewer Murders in Mexico than US before Drug War Offensive

[IMG][/IMG]

Before several Mexican cities became more dangerous than many Baghdad neighborhoods, the country once experienced fewer annual murders than the United States. Back in 2005, Mexico recorded 9,921 homicides, compared with 16,740 murders north of the border. By 2011, Mexico reported 27,199 annual murders, vastly surpassing 14,585 in the US.

Though Mexico’s 2005 murder rate of 9 per 100,000 people exceeded the US rate of 5.6 per 100,000, the concentration of homicides in the Southern United States and urban areas, had made several portions of the country more dangerous than Mexico.

But homicide in Mexico has risen steadily, ever since President Felipe Calderon kicked off the drug war with Joint Operation Michoacán in 2006, dispatching 6,500 soldiers to free the president’s home state from the grips of powerful drug traffickers.

1. Prohibition Sucks - The End!

Mexico's gruesome civil war is clearly a product of the failed policy of Prohibition.

Alcohol Prohibition was a tremendous failure due to the incredible amount of crime and disorder it created. Human nature hasn't changed since the 1920s when the distribution of liquor was turned over to a whole new group of criminal entrepreneurs. Drug Prohibition has turned Mexico into a civil war zone. Dangerous mind altering substances are again being manufactured, smuggled and sold by criminals. Our intentions in prohibiting these substances may well be good but the result of our inability to recognize the futility of such an action will both deepen and prolong the agony caused by this extremely counter-productive and dangerous policy.

The future depends on whether or not enough of us are willing to take a long look at the tragic results of prohibition. If we continue to skirt the primary issue while refusing to address the root problem then we can expect no other result than a worsening of the current dire situation. Good intentions, wishful thinking and pseudoscience are no match for the immutable realities of human nature.

So may we have some realism from all of you now on how to go about reclaiming our streets and stopping this mayhem: Please start making an honest effort to address the root cause of the present horrific mess and the high proliferation of "well funded" violent Cartels.

4. 1920s Era Prohibition

Raised crime by 500% throughout the US. That's crazy big! Drug prohibition has done the same, but we've allocated the violence south of the border so nobody can feel the difference at home. Nobody sees the blood on their cocaine until they put it in their nose.

We need to slowly diminish cartel profits through gradual and selective legalization, over the course of several decades. That way the cartels wont be shocked into switching more towards kidnapping and extortion to make up for lost profit. And the public will have time to stomach the transition.

Then we centralize drug production in highly secure areas. All cocaine would be produced in Bolivia, because this country is the only major coca producer free from significant cartel, rebel, and paramilitary control. Marijuana production would be decentralized throughout the states, but concentrated in Northern California. All synthetics would be produced in labs hidden somewhere in Wyoming. And heroin would be shipped in from Uzbekistan - still in Central Asia, but out of the hands of the Taliban in Afghanistan.

We get the FDA to strap regulations and grant limited licenses onto a select number of vendors. Then we decriminalize consumption of hard drugs, eliminating all punishment on use. Except if you get caught using you are mandated to seek clinical assistance, rather than jail time.

Badabing, badaboom...problem solved.

2. This 'drug war' was the Bush Junta's parting 'gift' to Mexicans for refusal to privatize their oil.

That's my theory. Soon after the Bushwhacks helped to rig the 2006 election (which leftist Lopez-Obrador lost by only 0.05%), their boy Calderon started pushing to privatize Mexico's oil (which is a constitutionally protected natural resource belonging to all Mexicans). There was huge, well-organized pushback by Mexicans. They hated that idea. Calderon wasn't able to carry out his mission no. 1 for his mentors. The plan to infuse billions of our tax dollars into things like the ATF running guns into Mexico, aiding fascist elements in Mexico's security forces, pitting drug organizations against each other, terrorizing Mexican society and making civic life impossible and drenching the country in blood, was hatched in 2008, just as the Bush Junta was putting the final touches on their ruination of the U.S. economy and worldwide depression.

They were good at wrecking societies. Iraq's. Afghanistan's. Colombia's. England's. Our own.

They deliberately wrecked Mexico, as a parting shot.

The U.S. "war on drugs" has been evil from the beginning. Remember who started it--Nixon. It was a way to destroy the "hippies" and the U.S. generation which said "make love not war," to put millions of people in jail to stop progressive movements here among the poor and the black, and to promote fascism and militarism in the U.S., but, more than this, it was a way to promote fascism and militarism in Latin America, for the obvious purposes of stealing their resources, creating slave labor forces and preventing democracy and economic fairness throughout the region.

It has had these purposes all along--but the Bush Junta brought new and quite mind-boggling twists to this already twisted "war"--a war that was NEVER INTENDED to stop the drug trade. They infused $7 BILLION in military aid into Colombia, for instance, and installed a Mob Boss as president of the country! Alvaro Uribe. He used the "war on drugs" to murder his enemies (trade unionists and other advocates of the poor), to spy on judges and prosecutors (obviously to intimidate and blackmail the legal system, and to be able to anticipate their moves against his criminal organization; he was also spying on trade unionists and others, to pass lists of targets to his death squads and to the military) and--the key to it all--he used the "war on drugs" (to which the Bushwhacks added the "war on terror&quot to brutally drive FIVE MILLION peasant farmers from their lands.

It was the latter--THE worst human displacement crisis on earth--that clued me into the upside down world of the Bushwhack "war on drugs." Many of these peasant farmers were growing a few coca leaves (traditional Indigenous medicine) for local use, along with food for their families and communities, and maybe sold a bit to the cocaine-makers/drug networks to supplement extreme poverty incomes. (Colombia also has THE worst poverty in Latin America, along with Guatemala.) (Venezuela, right next door, has THE most equal income distribution in Latin America. No.1! This is part of the reason that tens of thousands of poor Colombians have fled into Venezuela. The other reason: the Colombian military.)

It occurred to me that what Uribe/Bush were doing was eliminating the small players, consolidating the cocaine trade into fewer hands and directing its trillion+ dollar revenue stream to U.S. banksters, the Bush Cartel, the CIA and other beneficiaries. (Well, maybe they were muscling in on the CIA and that's what that conflict was about, or partly about.)

Colombia is THE most blood-drenched country in Latin America. The ghouls of the Bush Junta--their fangs dripping with blood--must have been very satisfied with their work.

They got control of the cocaine revenue stream, cleared the peasants off the land for the big, protected drug operations and for Monsanto, et al, prepped Colombia for U.S. "free trade by the rich" (by, among other things, decapitating the labor unions), fattened the pockets of many a war profiteer and spread corruption and brutality far and wide. All this worked so well in Colombia, they decided to use the same methods in Mexico (and what I think was a Bushwhack-designed coup d'etat in Honduras--which the Obama administration helped legitimize--is having the same effect--Honduras is beginning to resemble Colombia--rampant rightwing death squads, murders of labor leaders, journalists and others, fascism/militarism, expanding U.S. military presence, DEA agents killing innocents, etc.).

In other words, this curve that we are looking at in the OP chart--the low murder rate in Mexico compared to the U.S., prior to Bush Junta's bloodbath, and then the zoom up in bloodshed in Mexico--was DELIBERATE. It's goal was never in any way intended to stop the drug trade. Its goal was to bloody Mexico as well and destroy civil society--for transglobal corporate/war profiteer purposes--and, very likely, to get control of those drug routes and revenues!

3. It goes deeper than that

You see the conspiracy was started by Newt Gingrich, in 1944. After fleeing from his top position in the SS (Himmler and Gingrich were buds) because he knew the Nazi ship was sinking, he emerged from his U-boat along the coast of S. Carolina to start a new life. Quickly blending into society as a combative conservative politician, der Gingrich had only one thing on his mind. If only he could start arbitrary civil conflicts in Latin America, then maybe, just MAYBE, he might be able to realize his dream OF constructing a moon base on Mars. From his moon base he would construct a giant Hitler mustache - turning the man on the moon into das Ferhrer on the moon.

The plan was simple, convince Nixon (A huge hippy at the time) to cut his hair and burn his grass. But, Nixon knew about this scheme way before hand cause Kennedy had told him everything in Morris Code, right before he left for Dallas. So he cut his hair and looked fantastic in the presidential debates that year and dominated the electoral college. But Nixon was an extremely jealous man. He felt that he was the original stoner and the king of psychedelic techno JAZZ, which all those pesky kids were trying to claim as their own. Moreover, he had been able to hide his true rebelliousness and pull off being elected president of the Free World. So he said, why don't we just spend billions on preventing drugs consumption IN a nation of extra cash and free time, to distract THE people from the Vietnam war. His plan worked perfectly, not only was he unable to stop people from using drugs, but he also succeeded in wasting over a trillion dollars doing so. Meanwhile he had distracted Newt Gingrich who was busy leaving wives and saying insensitive things. It took Newt up until a few years ago to finally come to his senses. One big wiff of glue reminded him of his original plan. Fortunately, Nixon had already told Reagan about Newt's plan via skype. So Reagan started a top secret project to create the perfect foil. His scientists took dna from a pig FARM and combined it with great hair; Mitt Romney was born.

His creation went on to make money off of other peoples money and bought Cadillacs in the Cayman islands to hide his nontaxable assets DERIVED partly from civil wars in Central America. But, the Cadilacs kept piling up and the islands eventually ran out of space. So he thought hard and long as he so often does. How would he be able to hide his MONEY quickly before islanders cried fowl to the whole world? He thought of all the good ways to waste money and FINALLY decided to become a politician. But his decision was no accident. Reagan's deregulation was engineered to eventually make running for presidential office a billion dollar endevour. This move was meant to entice Romney to JOIN the republican primaries twice, with THE sole purpose of foiling NEWT the second time around.

With Newt OUT of the picture, the moon's face was safe from Naziaization. Or so we thought. Newt was not about to throw in the towel just yet. He quietly made contact with an old buddy OF his, Heriberto Lazcano Lazcano whose humble startup had grown into the most vicious criminal organization in THE world. With Heriberto's help, the two would extort money from the Mexican public to pay for the ambitious moon project. Luckily, the central intelligence agency had already informed Barack Obama of the situation. The president looked into the gun CLOSET and shot Osama in the face. The message was clear, yet subtle. Stay off the moon newt or you'll end up like Bin Laden!

Ya that's all i was able to uncover for the day...
