Venezuelan political strategist Juan Jose Rendon has been granted asylum in the United States.

The United States government will grant asylum to a notorious political consultant known as the "Karl Rove of Latin America," a reference to the Republican advisor to former President George W. Bush.

“The United States granted political asylum to J.J Rendon,” the consultant, currently living in Miami, tweeted on Thursday.

Rendon is currently living in Miami, Florida, where he heads the Rendon Group, which has worked for clients in seventy-eight countries, including the Colombian Army, the government of Indonesia and Monsanto Company.

Most recently, Colombian hacker Andres Sepulveda told Bloomberg that he engaged in electronic espionage in an attempt to influence elections in a number of Latin American countries on behalf of Rendón. Rendón denies working with Sepúlveda in any meaningful capacity.

You do recall seeing this P.O.S. mucking around in election operations throughout the Americas, unfortunately. How predictable learning he's going to be a citizen here, just like Karl Rove. They will probably have so much to share.
