Brazil: Temer Pledges Business As Usual After Ministers Arrested

EMBATTLED Brazilian coup President Michel Temer vowed on Wednesday to forge ahead with his responsibilities despite corruption investigations being opened into ministers and numerous top allies.
Given that nearly a third of his Cabinet is affected, there is speculation that the probe could threaten the programme of slashing social security and imposing anti-union restrictions that he claims is critical to restoring growth.
Although Mr Temer himself is mentioned in some allegations, he has temporary immunity as president for any crimes committed before he took office.
We have to move forward with government, he declared brazenly during a ceremony to sign a measure promoting womens advancement.
