Actually, according to the article, Cubans have elected 3 women VPs.

Cuba's extensive censorship system was close to North Korea on the 2008 Press Freedom Index.[17] The media is operated under the Communist Partys Department of Revolutionary Orientation, which "develops and coordinates propaganda strategies".[18] According to Maria Werlau, the extreme concentration of power to the Castro family seems comparable in modern times only to that of North Korea under the regimes of Kim Jong-il and Kim Il-sung."

Everyone knew from the first the control the heavy-handed fascists have commanded over the countries trying to remain free of outside interference, abuse, exploitation, and constant covert warfare by propaganda, psyops, and darker means.

(389 posts)And, why didn't you vote when you lived there?
Curious.
But, if you haven't ever been there or lived there, surely, you're not so ignorant about this topic as to suggest that there are no elections in Cuba.
And, if you are ignorant on this topic, why are you making declarations about something you are ignorant of?
There's plenty of books and information about how Cuba's parliamentary system works.

(12,777 posts)...and I didn't have to live there to know they were a one party State like Cuba.
Well at least Cuba ranked above N Korea...but that ain't saying much.

(2,412 posts)Tell us about your carefree life in Cuba. Regale us with stories about your open, transparent and democratic elections.
I am curious too! I much prefer to hear about your exploits first hand in Cuba than read about them from some book.
I personally have never been to Cuba. Though I have been privy to Cuba's version of "international statesmanship" in their various dealings with Latin American peoples. Cuban "doctors" (not in any sense more prepared than a new nurse graduate) have this awesome super-ability... they are able to impregnate vast numbers of poor young Latinas before skipping off to their next field assignment.
For the glory of the revolution, of course.

(389 posts)I kinda knew, based on your ignorant doggerel, that you know next to nothing about Cuba.
It sort of destroys any veracity of any of your baseless pronouncements.
Now, I know to ignore your comments regarding Cuba.

(2,412 posts)Since we know "nothing" of Cuba, you would be able to fill us in on the transparent, open and democratic elections that Cuba has?
Q. Clearly you hold Cuba and its revolution in high esteem... why did you leave, and more importantly, why do you live apart from the Marxist/Leninist Utopian paradise?

Too bad uninformed people havent been able to grasp reality as it is, rather than what propagandists tell them.
