New mobilization of repudiation of Daniel Ortega


Hundreds of thousands of citizens participated in the march for Justice and Democratization of Nicaragua, convened by the University Coalition, which brought together students, peasants, businessmen and residents from different locations, who demand punishment for repression and for the death of 47 people in the protests started on April 18. The conflict began in Managua with student demonstrations against a reform to social security, which raised higher quotas and decreased pensions by 5 percent

"The people lost their fear and Ortega lost the people," was the slogan of more than 200,000 people in the third mass mobilization in Managua against the government of President Daniel Ortega in three weeks, Confidential magazine reported on its website.

Meanwhile, the Nicaraguan government declared on Thursday ready to begin a national dialogue with civilian society and the mediation of the Catholic Church, reported the vice president, Rosario Murillo.

He added that they only await the call of the bishops who will serve as mediators and witnesses of the talks.
