According to the captain, the sexual abstinence program was created because the PT preached that ‘anything goes’ and reached a point of ‘total depravity’

President Jair Bolsonaro decided to speak out about the government’s campaign that encourages sexual abstinence as a prevention of early pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections. Upon leaving the Palácio da Alvorada, on the morning of Wednesday 5th, Bolsonaro said that a person living with HIV is an expense for everyone in Brazil.

“A person with HIV, besides being a serious problem for them, is an expense for everyone here in Brazil”, dsaid the president, who reported as an example the case of a young woman who supposedly had her second child at the age of 15 and who contracted HIV in her third pregnancy.

And Bolsonaro again used the Workers’ Party as a justification for his actions. According to the captain, the program was created because “this freedom that they took along the PT, anything goes, reaches this point, total depravity ”.

The program Bolsonaro commented on is idealized by the Minister of Women, Family and Human Rights, Damares Alves, together with the Ministry of Health.
