Bolivia's coupmongers recognize their inability in Covid-19 crisis

La Paz, June 22 (Prensa Latina) The Ministry of Health, elected by Bolivia's de facto government recognized on Monday its inability to fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, as it marks the third month of the quarantine imposed in the country to contain it.

'There is a real risk of Bolivia's medical facilities to collapse and the death toll to increase,' admitted the head of Epidemiology at the Ministry of Health, Virgilio Prieto, in statements to the Unitel network.

'People are dying, there will be no spaces in hospitals, pointed out the expert, after the country reported 773 deaths from the disease (33 of them on Monday) and 24,388 Covid-19 cases.

Prieto said that the agenda of other national activities should be marked by the epidemic and called for doing something to control SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus and prevent its further spread.

On the growth in victims and its possible peak until September, the specialist deemed that it is very likely not to be able to go to the polls, referring to the official announcement yesterday about the possible holding of the elections.

De facto President Jeanine Añez announced on Sunday that she will enact the law for the holding of presidential elections on September 6.
