Brazil's daily Covid-19 deaths top 2,000 for the first time

Rio de Janeiro (dpa) - Brazil has recorded more than 2,000 coronavirus deaths in a day for the first time.

Health Ministry data released late on Wednesday showed 2,286 deaths in 24 hours.

Brazil has recorded 270,656 Covid-19 related deaths since the pandemic began.

The latest daily figures showed 79,876 new infections, bringing the total for Latin America's largest country to more than 11.2 million.

Only the United States and India have recorded higher case numbers.

there is evidence that people can also be part of the solution. We've all got to do a
better job of choosing our political leaders!
