U.S. Designates Former Honduran President for Corruption

August 12, 2021

“While in office, President Lobo accepted bribes from the narco-trafficking organization Los Cachiros in exchange for political favors."

In late July, the United States designated former Honduran President Porfirio Lobo Sosa for significant corruption. At the same time, his wife, former First Lady Rosa Elena Bonilla Avila was also designated.

The designation for corruption means that Porfirio Lobo, Rosa Lobo, and their immediate family members are ineligible for entry into the United States.

Porfirio Lobo Sosa, known as Pepe Lobo, served as President of Honduras from 2010 to 2014. A member of the right-wing National Party, he first entered national politics in 1990 as a deputy in the National Congress of Honduras.

“While in office, President Lobo accepted bribes from the narco-trafficking organization Los Cachiros in exchange for political favors,” said Secretary of State Antony Blinken in a written statement.

At least the President's son, Fabio, got to see "The Eternal City" before taking the grand tour of "The Big House" after
being tried for narco-trafficking.

Former President Lobo, striking an impressive pose

The former First Lady, Rosa Elena de Lobo, got her very own tour of the Big House.

to finish his elected term as president, the Army shot live rounds into the crowd of people who came to greet him, murdering their first Honduran, a teenager, killing him where he stood, after which people were snatched off the streets, and tortured before being murdered, total curfews allowed people only enough time to go to work and run straight home, the electricity and phones were cut, which meant no one could have refrigerated food, so they had to grab groceries for just the evening before they could have dinner, and do that on the run, of course, and black unlicensed gov't vehicles cruised the streets, looking for victims, kicked down doors of any suspected leftists, etc., etc.

You remember they called the temporary "President" "Micheletti," "Gorilletti" and "Goriletti" was immediately surrounded by US right-wing Congressmen and Cuban "exile" monster Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen who all flew there as fast as they could, to show their support of the coup.

Miami Republican Ileana Ros-Lehtinen arrived in a flash.

Senator Jim DeMint led the Republican Senators as they flew to the side of monster Roberto Micheletti, who lived in Tampa, and New Orleans, attended high school, and ran a business in the U.S. before he moved to Honduras as an adult.

Honduras' interim President Micheletti to ousted Zelaya: Better bring an army with you!
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
JUL 01, 2009 AT 9:26 AM

A defiant Roberto Micheletti said in an interview with The Associated Press that "no one can make me resign," defying the United Nations, the OAS, the Obama administration and other leaders that have condemned the military coup that overthrew President Manuel Zelaya.

The U.N. General Assembly voted by acclamation Tuesday to demand Zelaya's immediate restoration, and the Organization of American States said Wednesday that coup leaders have three days to restore Zelaya to power before Honduras risks being suspended from the group.

That period for negotiation prompted Zelaya to announce he was putting off his plans to return home on Thursday until the weekend.

Micheletti vowed Zelaya would be arrested if he returns, even though the presidents of Argentina and Ecuador have signed on to accompany him along with the heads of the Organization of American States and the U.N. General Assembly.
