One woman who managed to get away from their grasp said she was "sold a dream that turned into a nightmare".

A pair of pimps forced Brazilian women to work as prostitutes after trafficking them to the UK on the promise of studying English.

Hussain Edani and Shana Stanley’s victims were lured thousands of miles from South America and forced into sex work to pay off their travel costs.

One victim was sent on an English course in Manchester when she first arrived in the UK.

The following day, Stanley took her shopping and paid for clothing and lingerie.

But she was soon sent back to London where Stanley told her she would no longer be attending the English course.

Three women Brazilians were rescued from a prostitution network by policeman in northeast London, following a investigation which started from March of last year. On August 9 Shana Stanley, a woman 29, and Hussain Edanie, a 31-year-old man, confessed to crimes of control from prostitution and organization of trips with the intention of exploitation, which involved three women Brazilian women and an English victim, bringing the case to an end.

Both involved were jailed and sentenced. Edani received a sentence of 8 years and 2 months, and Stanley of 3 years and 7 months.

“They sold me a dream that turned into a nightmare,” one of the Brazilians told BBC News. According to testimony, the victim is still in the process of recovering from a gruesome sequence of abuses in the English capital.

Scholarships, the hook to fall into the prostitution network
The three Brazilians arrived in England in 2020, after receiving one “scholarship“for an English course that would last a few weeks. According to the BBC, the policeman did not provide details on how the victims, but it is known that there was a promise to provide facilities to study abroad.

Shortly after arriving, the women they became victims from a lucrative market for about of people who, according to HIM-HER-IT, affects 2.5 million people each year and moves more than US $ 30,000 million.
