Three killed, four wounded in shooting inside Club Viejo Oeste bar in Juarez

Three people were killed and at least four others were wounded when gunmen burst into a Juárez bar and opened fire Sunday night.

The mass shooting occurred inside a bar named Club Viejo Oeste — which means "Old West" — located on José Borunda Street by Uruguay Street a few blocks from the famed home of the late superstar Juan Gabriel in central Juárez, according to local news reports.

Two parked cars with Texas plates were visible outside the bar. One of the car's is registered to an El Paso man, according to a license plate check.

The victims had not been identified. A potential motive for the attack has not been disclosed by authorities.

Viejo Oeste should be a place most people would avoid! Good grief! Judi Lynn Jan 2022 #1
I haven't been to the restaurant, but I did go to Juarez once about 30 years ago. TexasTowelie Jan 2022 #2

The assassinations alone should give the place a bad name!

I had to look to see how close El Paso is to Juarez. It may be too close.

Apparently El Paso has been scary, too, for a long time!

How would you like to be the food critic for the Juarez newspaper, after publishing a bad review of the restaurant?

I was attending a convention in El Paso and went with a group to the horse racing tracks.
