Published 23 February 2022

On Tuesday, former Senator Piedad Córdoba denounced that an email from the Colombian embassy in Washington asked her for money in exchange for allowing her access to a private video related to her political career.

According to what the leftist social activist knows, the video shows the Colombian ambassador in Washington Juan Pinzon and the U.S. State Undersecretary for the Western Hemisphere Michael Kozak conspiring against her.

"For accessing to this information, I was asked to give a financial compensation, something I refused to do since it was a clear extortion false entrapment action," Córdoba said, adding that the email was signed by the Embassy's economic consultant Mario Hernandez.

"The person who contacted me insisted we should have a personal appointment given that Kozak and Pinzon wanted my extradition to the U.S. to prevent me from running in the March legislative election as a candidate of the Historic Pact," Córdoba pointed out.

trip to Washington, D.C.

The Colombian right-wing racist fascists have tried to destroy Piedad Córdoba over 20 years, and the Colombian right-wing government has been totally supported by the US State Department continually, pouring over $11 B. into the government since 2000. with nothing to show for it in improving the lives of the loathed poor population. Córdoba has been the target of hostilities all that time. From Wikipedia:

Kidnapping
In 1999 Carlos Castaño, leader of the paramilitary group United Self-Defense Forces of Colombia (AUC), kidnapped Senator Córdoba. After several weeks she was freed and exiled with her family in Canada. After one year and 2 months in exile and reports by Colombian authorities that security had improved, Córdoba returned to Colombia, leaving her family behind to resume her political duties. She has been the victim of two assassination attempts.

Death threats and political ban through coercion
In the elections of 2002, the regions where Córdoba had traditionally received strong voting results like Medellín and Chocó were seen as being under control by an AUC paramilitary group. Córdoba was elected once again for Congress this time obtaining strong voting results in the capital, Bogotá.

Piedad Córdoba: Plan Colombia Has Been a Total Failure
A Colombian Senator Criticizes U.S. Policies Imposed in Latin America
By Alex Contreras Baspineiro
Narco News South American Bureau Chief
June 10, 2004

This report appears on the internet at http://www.narconews.com/Issue33/article997.html
"The last two Colombian governments, even more [than their predecessors], have been mere puppets of the United States government and global investors"

- Piedad Córdoba, Colombian Senator

LA PAZ, BOLIVIA: The U.S.-imposed Plan Colombia is not a solution for the rebuilding of government legitimacy and rule of law, and even less for the strengthening of democracy, according to Colombian senator Piedad Córdoba. Rather, she said, it is a tool for criminalizing Colombian and other Latin American social movements with false rhetoric about a war on drugs and terrorism.

In an interview with Narco News, Córdoba said that the Colombian government has not used the resources received through Plan Colombia as promised for the fumigation and eradication of coca crops or for fighting drug trafficking. They have instead used those funds to persecute, apprehend and assassinate supposed terrorists, who usually turn out to be members of community groups, trade unions, or human rights organizations.

The first version of Plan Colombia - developed under President Andrés Pastrana (1998-2002) - was written in English. Its origin in the United States government cannot be denied.

"Plan Colombia primarily serves U.S. interests in Latin America, especially in Colombia itself," Córdoba said. "The U.S. wants to become a kind of guardian over Colombia, a wall to block the very democratic security that it claims to promote."

The last two Colombian administrations, more than their predecessors, have been "mere puppets of the U.S. government and global investors."
