A suspect whose girlfriend was found dead in her car in Mexico has become the subject of an FBI manhunt after he escaped custody and crossed back into the United States under an alias, authorities say.

Tyler Adams, 50, was detained by authorities in Rosarito, Baja California after a decomposing body thought to belong to his partner Racquel Sabean was found in the Tijuana area on 31 May.

On June 8, authorities issued an amber alert for 7-month-old Valentina Sabean, his daughter with Ms Sabean.

Mexican police later located Valentina alive in Rosarito, Baja California, and have placed her in protective services.

1. Call me crazy, but . . . .

Years ago I volunteered with a little theater project and worked with "latex" skin for facial prosthetics. It looks like this man's face is "altered" with the same sort of stuff I used on actors. The patina of his skin is all wrong. (And I'm not just referrring to the sweat.) His skin is too smooth, his chin looks too long and the puffs beneath his eyes don't look real.

4. Interesting seeing your observations. His face startled me immediately. So strange.

Crime figures have been recorded for years getting plastic surgery once they feel obligated to hide from authorities when they become notorious.

Have never seen a photo like that. Yikes.

5. Yes, he does! He looks like a mannequin, and he moves oddly, too. Holy moly.

6. I think someone needs to check under their shirts

and check to see if they are robots like Hymie in Get Smart. They certainly look closer to that than a human being.
