It's Time For The U.S. To End Its Senseless Embargo Of Cuba

http://www.forbes.com/sites/realspin/2013/01/16/its-time-for-the-u-s-to-end-its-senseless-embargo-of-cuba/

For the first time in more than fifty years, Cuban citizens can travel abroad without permission from their government. The move, part of a broader reform package being phased in by Raul Castro, underscores the irrationality of America’s continuation of a five-decade old embargo.

I will be delighted when the Cuban embargo is ended along with the closing of the School of the Americas (assassins) and the prison at Guantanamo is closed. That would be a good start to defining a progressive policy for Latin America.

well extra ridiculous in light of recent improvements in Cuba.

I wanted to add though, to the other thread that this is a golden time for travel to Cuba precisely because it is before the gates open to Spring Breakers and the like. They are already near capacity and prices will just go up. Also while the Castros are alive you can still get much of the experience of Revolutionary Cuba, it's living history and it will be less interesting in five years, in my opinion, as things become more globalized there.
