Senator John Kerry joins 16 other senators in urging delay of deportation rules on same-sex couples

http://www.boston.com/politicalintelligence/2012/05/10/senator-john-kerry-joins-other-senators-urging-delay-deportation-rules-same-sex-couples/sf1RwkShRpRrGkvutyrrmI/story.html

A day after President Obama made a historic announcement in support of gay marriage, Senator John Kerry joined 16 colleagues Thursday in urging the White House to delay enforcement of restrictions on immigrants who risk deportation because of their same-sex marriages.

In a letter sent to Attorney General Eric Holder and Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, the senators said they were troubled that some immigration field offices “are apparently following a blanket policy to deny green card applications for all gay spouses.”

...

Today’s letter follows one sent last spring that sought similar action. The agencies had responded by agreeing to look at cases affected by DOMA on a case-by-case basis. But based on anecdotal reports, the senators said in today’s letter, “this policy is not currently being exercised.”

...
Kerry was joined in the letter by several senators from New England: Democratic Senators Patrick Leahy of Vermont, Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut, Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire, Sheldon Whitehouse of Rhode Island, and Chris Coons of Delaware, as well as independent Senator Bernard Sanders of Vermont.

And, for those who insist comparing him and Romney, here is the latest news on Romney

saying he "joined" 16 Senators ignores this. Here is a link to Kerry's statement and the letter. http://www.kerry.senate.gov/press/release/?id=749c7e4c-a599-478b-8be6-1757946f69c5

The Romney story makes him less likable than he was before - and that was not too likable. Though the media somehow convinced the country that a kid who blew up frogs and branded pledges in college was "a nice guy" - and a former Eagle scout and a genuinely kind guy who risked his own live to save another's were not "likeable". Let's hope that people see that the cruel boy, who grew into a vulture capitalist, who really did not mind firing large numbers of people for what he is.

You also will not see that Kerry's favs (or Patrick's for the matter) are better than Brown's poll after poll. Here is the latest: .

or so many other things. They are still in love with Brown (and busy bashing local democrats).

As for Romney, from MA, it is hard to see what will happen. Romney is so hated here and Obama so well liked that the race is lopsided, while the Senate race stays desperately tied (how is it even possible that people continue to like Brown).
