Question for the group: how broadly do you want to take the Statement of Purpose?

Do we want to talk about how the economy is affecting us, as indiv?
Do we want more of ms smiler's information on her lawsuits against banks?
With the new forum limits, there is not much room elsewhere for her info.

I personally am very much into the foreclosure issues, have been following them since 2008.

What kinds of things of things do you want included under the "purpose"?

Asking because we need to be able to identify what is NOT part of the purpose if and when that comes up.
( bear in mind that alerts, not group hosts, address rudeness, disruption, trolls, etc)

Whatcha say?

I love being able to see econ related stuff of all stripes in one place. That, and it will be easier to find going forward if, say, a friend ends up having bank/foreclosure/broker issues and you want to go back and find an article you remembered reading about the topic.

Of course, econ issues are the main topics that I would usually read in GD or LBN, so I may be looking at this a little differently from a topical perspective.

Understanding its ins and outs would be helpful.

To me, almost everything can be related to the economy. I may be the wrong person to comment on where it should be limited.

I mostly hang out in the Stock Market Watch thread, so hi to everyone I'm not familiar with here.
My two cents worth is that anything economics related should be welcome in this group, provided the forum rules are adhered to.

The mortgage fraud/foreclosure fraud issue is affecting many of us as individuals (**raises hand**) and the economy as a whole, so that absolutely belongs here!

ms.smiler had JUST posted the link to name-scrubbed pdf files of her lawsuit documents only hours before we switched over to DU3 so I fear most people following that thread didn't get to see them.

Would love for that OP and the new info to be reposted here and then pinned so we can follow the progress on that.

That this is for informational and entertainment purposes and not investment advice to paraphrase that tread.

As far as how broad, if it starts with two economists walk into a bar and ends with no animals were injured in the making of this post, exclusive of pictures of naughty bits, what's not part and parcel of the dismal science?

The politics of money and the powers that be are fair game.

And that "truth-e-ness" thing is a welcomed refreshment (given the corporate lacky spew) as a fair test of what the purpose of the economy post group forum whatchamacallit thingy is should anyone ask might cover it. Also know as the duck test.

this forum saved me when I realized (in a large part to the DrHousingBubble excerpts in here) in 2006 that my house is PHX was ridiculously over valued, sold it and paid cash for an acre in NM

i love this forum and love being exposed to all kinds of information, so wide open in my vote!

I hope to have a pinned statement of our mutual agreement of how we are defining the idea of the

The economy has effected me personally and my communities.

There is much ever more institutionalized sociopathic behavior in the world of economics and finance.

One of the problems in the USA (and World) is neoliberal economic policy IMO.
