But it will tough to replace Bachmann. When Palin was no longer running, she ceased to be hilarious and just became pathetic. And the nice thing about Bachmann was that she was a two-fer. That husband was almost as funny as her.

With her background at the IRS, I'm thinking her next phase will be to form a 501(c)(4) for a massive new "Pray the Gay Away" clinic -- something on the scale of Mall of the Americas.

I hope Pat Robertson doesn't die before 2015 (he's still alive, isn't he?) because I expect to see her on all the teevee preachers shows.

One of the funniest (and saddest) things I ever saw was M. C. Hammer, after his flash of a real career ended, appearing on one of those teevee preacher channels. He was doing the same old "Can't Touch This" schtick, parachute pants and all, but just threw in a few more "Lords" and "Jesuses". After his act, when he went to sit down for a talk with those white folks, it was priceless. They had absolutely noting in common. They all stammered around for a few minutes until they settled on "Well, Jesus is pretty good, right?"

in 8 years a congress critter develops lots of contacts and connections.
Do you know of any ex-congress critter with name recognition who did
not make loads of money after departure?

Bachmann has a tax lawyer background, if I recall.
