I'm sure people who need to think about that will simply complain.

(17,873 posts)Kids don't have a choice. They can't make their own decisions, much less **informed** decisions. Sure, they can wear masks and try to "social distance," but we all know how much good that is going to do under peer pressure. And that's the older ones who can even process the whole idea of pandemic and contagious and mitigation. Little kids simply aren't able to get it.
So what happens? They don't get "sick," but they take it home. There's already a case of a kid who brought it home and his/her parents DIED. How does a child live the rest of their life with that? Or with killing a classmate or a teacher?
It's utterly insane.
Yes, it scares me. It also enrages me.
And there isn't a damn thing we can do about it.

(111,358 posts)but they're closing classrooms when a student tests positive, never mind the school since of course the kids enter one by one and maintain distancing at all times blah blah blah. I don't know what kind of fantasy these men are living in, but I would hazard a guess they're mostly men and none of them have much contact with children.
Also, kids are getting sick. Some are dying, some of the illness and some of the massive inflammatory aftereffects.
One of the message boards I hang on has a disproportionate number of teachers. They are all terrified. They are all angry.
