In our own era, it is a tradition of long standing to link free markets with the property rights of capital. Yet the great majority of citizens rely for the great bulk of their income on labor. Perhaps it's time to ask: Why are the rights of working persons inferior to those of wealthy persons? Why does the corporate board have a fiduciary duty to wealth holders, but not to employees?
