Non-union employees ask to join Teamsters as trash collectors' strike continues

BOSTON —
Republic Services and trash workers are returning to the negotiating table Friday for the 13th time as trash collectors continue to strike in several Massachusetts communities.

Teamsters Local 25 said dozens of Republic's non-union employees at Massachusetts facilities have now asked to join.

They requested that the union negotiate a collective bargaining agreement on their behalf.

Local 25 is working to secure representation rights for the employees.
