People can apply for north Omaha jobs and paid union construction apprenticeships during an event scheduled for noon Monday in north Omaha.

The event is the November edition of the North Omaha First Monday Forum at Chef Mike's community cafe, in the Lake Point Building on the southwest corner of 24th and Lake Streets.

It's not a traditional job fair, organizer Preston Love Jr. said. There will be “applications, not brochures” there.

People can submit applications for jobs at a Walmart under construction at 56th Street and Ames Avenue, and the NorthStar after-school center for boys, under construction at 50th Street and Ames Avenue.
