AFSCME MN Council 5 is seeking applicants for the position of Health & Welfare Dental Trust Administrator. The position is full-time (37.5 hours per week), Monday-Friday and based out of the South St. Paul office.

PURPOSE:
This position will be responsible for administering a self-insured dental health and welfare trust consisting of approximately 10,000 covered lives. This positions will work in coordination with member entities as well as Delta Dental and our dental consultants.

JOB DUTIES:
• Determine eligibility for applicants based on eligibility rules.
• Responsible for maintaining/updating data in software database.
• Responsible for maintaining database for recurring payments regarding retirees in the plan.
• Processing payments via payment database and remote deposit scanner.
• Processing new subscribers, changes and updates to current subscribers, terminations/retirements in a timely manner.
• Responsible for generating monthly financials.
• Responsible for scheduling quarterly trustee meetings.
• Coordinate and execute open enrollment process once a year.
• Responsible for all communication with the Board of Trustees.
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:
• Four-year degree required and/or 5 years equivalent work experience in benefits administration.
• A background in HR, benefits or finance a plus.
• Must understand federal and state COBRA regulations and HIPPA regulations.
• Familiarity with, and ability to, operate a computer with business-related software packages. Microsoft Excel and Word experience required.
• Possess a demeanor that displays patience, diplomacy and tactfulness in dealings with members, co-workers and outside contact.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate information both orally and in writing with a diverse group of people.
• Substantial knowledge and experience with the overall operations of a business office.
• Demonstrate time management skills and work habits that are orderly and efficient.
• Ability to work independently, as well as the ability to work as a team member in a variety of office activities.
• Self-starter/self-motivated. Ability to initiate ideas.
• Excellent organizational skills, flexibility, and ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Adhere to all business policies and procedures.

ISAIAH seeks an energized self-motivated person to engage GRIP congregations and grassroots leaders of faith in campaigns to promote economic, social and racial justice in the St. Cloud region and in the state of Minnesota.

The ideal applicant will have a minimum B.A. degree (or equivalent experience) and experience as community and / or labor organizer. He / She will be able to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a 
fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. An ISAIAH Organizer must display strong interpersonal, written and verbal skills and be flexible.

Applicant must either live in the St Cloud region or be willing to relocate there. GRIP/ISAIAH is open to job sharing arrangements.
