I have one of the first 2,350 Spaulding & Rogers Power Unit 1 power supplies for coil type tattoo guns. It is in excellent working condition, and still has the original Treadlite foot pedal and original clip cord. Both cords have been repaired/spliced back together a few times, but I think that just adds to the uniqueness. You can get a new pedal & clip cord from the S&R website for about $30 + shipping. I called the company in New York and spoke with their Archives Department. They said that this unit was made in late '78 or '79, and if it was still in good working condition would be considered a museum quality piece. I have also spoken with several tattoo shops, all of which have told me it's worth a minimum of $500, and probably triple that if I found a serious collector. It also comes with one pack of 3 "do it yourself stainless steel liner bars", but they already have some needles attached, and an old pack of "#12 Eyeless Stainless Steel World Class Tattooing Needles". It was originally a 100 pack, but there are only about 35-36 left in the box. Both boxes are also branded Spaulding & Rogers. I would recommend sterilizing them before using. $300 for fundraiser. There is a rumor that they are going to quit making these, as everyone is going with the new Rotary Tattoo Machines. That will only increase the value, especially since Huck Spaulding passed away in 2013. This is YOUR chance to own a piece of history.
