I like all sorts of things.

Right now I'm finishing up some reading I have to do for other work-related things, which was after I had to do some reading for some other work-related things... but I'll be reading Slumberland next. An African-American jazz d.j. goes to Berlin in search of a musician. It's a comedy novel - a satire that gets everyone - not so very plot heavy, but the writer has a nice ear for language.

Michener, Clavelle, WEB Griffin (WE Butterworth) and the like. But I do like crime/cop stories, detectives, etc., with Robert Crais being another favorite author.

Enjoy Slumberland; it sounds fun and I'll look for it.

Personally, I tend not to go for the big names you mention (though I read Michener in the past.)

I don't have copies of his work for sale, but I like Jo Nesbo as a crime fiction writer. The brick & mortar store with which I am peripherally associated, however, does.

I can supply just about any title for people here, but not at my less-than-half-price prices for new books. I'd love to be the bookseller of choice for my DU peeps - it's better to shop via independents than Amazon, just for the sake of book diversity in the long term.

Anyway, ultimately it's just great that people read, no matter where they get their books or in what format.
