Benjamin Graham - intrinsic value. Undervalued assets. The great investors know this. I doubt 1.5% of "advisors" pay it any heed, and surely few of those who work the sales side of the business, even with an SEC license.

because my niece and nephew (who I adore) went to work for the companies.

Only two, and not too much money in either, but I lost about 80% on both. And both relatives have since left the companies. (One, for example, was Wayfair.)

Your post makes me feel better.

The big money return in crypto is:::
1. Starting it, hyping it, and getting out, leaving the suckers holding the bag.
2. Handling/storing it for others.
A few have profited by 'investing' but not the majority.

She wanted him to be home with the kids more.

I am sure the money loss didn't help matters.

When Obama was POTUS, GM filed for bankruptcy and was doomed.
The stock went to penny stock and was basically worthless.

I was 100% certain that Obama would bail out GM, even though no one else thought so at the time.

So I called the guy who handles my retirement account and told him to buy GM stock.
I had never called him before to buy stock, he was aware I had no understanding of investment.
So he argued with me.

I told him this was not a financial, but politics, I knew what Obama was going to do.

At any rate, I made a little bit of money on the deal because Obama did bail out GM.

But it is too nerve wracking to play with retirement money like that.
So I never did it again.
