I hadn't signed it yet, but I definitely will after reading this article.
I am impressed with the State of Michigan's standards:
There is a reason Michigans English Language Proficiency Standards call for students to engage in challenging and purposeful learning that blends their experiences with content knowledge and real-world applications. Students learn better this way.
and disgusted that the Superintendent holds them in such low regard.
another bit that impressed me:
Real life is not clean. It is not clear cut. It is not safe. But it is the world our students live in and they will be required to navigate it as adults. Teachers must bring this outside world into the classroom.
neither will teaching to the test like they do here in Texas.

No union. Teachers hired at will with no contract.
Sounds like a good teacher. Hopefully she will get hired by a traditional public school and have some job security.
