Playing the race card - (cont.)

I posted a small story about a student playing the race card as a ploy to get a better grade from an instructor, who is my friend.

The student wanted a grade review because he thought it was worse than what he should get. What should typically be a casual 15, 30-min meeting between a student and an instructor was turned into a formal affair with other people invited to the meeting to review the student complaints, which included an allegation of racial bias.
The matter was resolved to everyone's satisfaction when the student himself was shown that the grading was fair, and that he had been in fact given a much more generous grade than what he deserved, which should have been an F.
The student is actually a known bully with an attitude problem, who BS his way through school and other instructors know about him as well. Had he not played the race card, the dept chair would not have asked the instructor to postpone her trip, which cost her money to change the itinerary, and requested the UG Dean office to be involved etc.
Is there a consequence? yes. After the instructor got back from her trip, she told me that from now on, she would be careful and try to keep extra documentation on minority students just in case when things like this happen again.
Talking about a single stupid kid abusing the system.

Edited: someone said that "playing the race card" is an expression adopted by rwers. Perhaps this can changed to "Abusing the charge of racial bias." This is not about race. It's about a single mental case, the likes of which come in all races and nationalities. It just happened that this stupid kid used his race to play his game. He would have used something else if he weren't a minority.
